This presentation by long-time state legislative aide John Turcotte provides a detailed discussion of how to make effective presentations to legislators.  He begins by identifying the logistic issues that must be attended to in advance.  He then moves on to a discussion of how to make an effective presentation with an emphasis on matching the delivery style and content to the needs of busy, powerful people.  He includes a discussion of tailoring the presentation to legislators, while recognizing they have varying learning styles.  He provides an outline of what to include, emphasizing the importance of the preview.  Along with the presentation, 3 handouts with samples are provided as well as one worksheet with a step-by-step lesson in how to develop the preview.
